INCOGNITO - Live at Java Jazz Fest JAKARTA 2008 (2 DVD)

Irresistible, driving groove and large amounts of emotion - this is the formula of the British band Incognito, who captivate audiences all over the world. Just how the band has perfected its live performance around Jean-Paul Bluey Maunick, the Mauritius-born singer and sound pioneer, was demonstrated by this magnificent performance. Recorded live at the Java Jazz Festival, Jakarta 2008, the audience was immediately drawn into the non-stop stream of ideas and sophisticated variations, the interplay of sounds from such a variety of instruments and the vivid flow of the rhythm. Poignant soul ballads follow funky dynamic numbers and gospel ecstasy shifts into a relaxed party atmosphere. The artists gave their all for the versatile sound of the group. In return, they take it in turns to shine when performing their solos - from the vocalists to the horns, from the bass player to the drums. This music embodies the very best of jazz and soul. Making their mark on the jazz/funk scene since the early 1980s, Jean-Paul "Bluey" Maunick and his British fusion band have been a staple among jazz connoisseurs for years.

MIKE STERN - Live New Morning 2004 (with DENNIS CHAMBERS & RICHARD BONA)

This performance was recorded at the New Morning is Paris on November 9, 2004 and features three time Grammy nominee Stern side by side with super bassist singer Richard Bona at the New Morning in 2004. It was written in the stars that Mikes fiery guitar and Richards singing bass should meet. Supported rhythmically and melodically by legendary drummer Dennis Chambers and brilliant tenor saxophonist Bob Franceschini, the Mike Stern Band brings forth stirring lyricism that will sound irresistible to music lovers everywhere.

BILLY COBHAM - Culturemix Live at New Morning 2002

This is clearly underlined in the live recording made in September 2002 at the Paris New Morning club. The New Morning - The Paris Concert DVD contains twelve great tracks, where all of the musicians involved show themselves to be fantastic soloists. High points are the new versions of "Crosswinds", "Dreamer", "Mister BC", "Dessiccated Coconuts", "Stratus" and "Spectrum". As a bonus there is a recording of a sound check, where Billy Cobham and his new musical companions obviously had a lot of fun. Musicians: Per Gade, guitar, Stefan Rademacher, bass, Marcos Ubeda, keyboards and Junior Gills, percussion & steel drums. Drummer Billy Cobham joins several equally successful musicians (including Per Gade (guitar), Marcos Ubeda (keyboard), Junior Gills (percussion, steel drums), and Stefan Rademacher (bass) in this concert release. Filmed during September of 2002 at the famous European jazz club New Morning, CULTUREMIX captures the band performing 12 live numbers that highlight each musician's ability through extensive solo instrumentals. In addition to the main performance, which contains the songs "Dreamer," "Desiccated Coconuts," and "Mister BC" among others, CULTUREMIX features a live sound-check.
